*The finishing touch*
Areas undergoing alteration will be steamed/pressed however a full steaming/pressing service if required is offered as an additional service. This can be added on to your alterations at any point of the alterations process. Pricing varies depending on the style & layers.
I advise all garments to be hung inside the garment bag (not folded in a storage box) prior to your first fitting appointment ensuring all layers of the dress are as straight as possible, especially any stiff netting layers underneath.
ALWAYS use the hanger loops! Use a sturdy strong hanger (or two) and ensure to wrap the hanger loops around the hanger as many times as required (at least twice) so that they take the weight of the dress so not to risk stretching any straps or delicate tulle necklines.
*Please do not cut the loops out; they have such an important function in storing your garment before & after wear.
If a dress is heavily creased &/or has been stored in a box prior to alteration especially if a Satin, Mikado or crepe fabric (as per photo above), please be aware that it may require steaming/pressing ahead of alteration for the accurate pinning of hems in particular.
If this is the case an appointment can be arranged to drop off the dress the week prior to your first fitting to be steamed; appointments will be offered subject to availability & likely during my allocated sewing days, Tues-Friday between 9.30-3pm. If you are unsure please don’t hesitate to send some pictures for further advice.
*Steaming prior to alteration is chargeable as a separate service & your gown will be returned to you fully steamed at the end of the alterations process.
Yes, however this will be subject to my availability & I may not be able to accommodate last minute requests/fast turnarounds during peak season March-September.
-SewSuz cannot guarantee to remove all creases.
-Sometimes steaming/pressing can highlight marks that were not previously visible (water marks, greasy finger marks & underarms where deodorant &/or sweat may have come into contact with the garment are some examples); this is beyond SewSuz's control & therefore can take no responsibility should such marks or any others appear whilst steaming.
-Some fabrics crease easier/quicker than others. It is therefore recommended to keep garments hung using the appropriate hanging loops with adequate storage space before & after alterations &/or steaming. SewSuz cannot be held responsible for any garments that crease or damage during transportation, storage or wear.
